Oratory had an excellent start to the second period and leveled the score on 48 minutes when Dos Santos produced a fine move on the right flank and from his low pass just outside the area Shaun Attard concluded in goal with a fine strike.  Xewkija were shocked and on 50 minutes they almost conceded a second goal.  Shaun Attard won a ball from the midfield and passed to Thiago Dos Santos.  The Brazilian striker entered the area but had his shot partially saved by goalie Adrian Parnis.  From the rebound the ball arrived to Andrea Debrincat but the latter also had his attempt blocked by Xewkija’s extreme defender.  This missed chance for the Youths was probably the turning point of the encounter as Xewkija had an immediate reaction and regained full command of play for the remaining minutes of the match.  Xewkija also punished their opponents on 63 minutes by regaining the lead as Daniel Bogdanovic passed outside the area to John Camilleri.  The latter had his shot deflected by a defender and the ball got a second deflection from Dene Shields before ending out of the reach of goalie Vella and into the corner of the goal.  Two minutes later Xewkija’s Daniel Bogdanovic had an attempt directly from a free kick that hit the crossbar and on 68 minutes Xewkija practically made sure of winning the final with the third goal.  Chris Camilleri won the ball from his opponent on the line of the midfield and managed to produce a solo action within Oratory’s territory up to the edge of the area so that Xewkija’s veteran midfielder placed easily in goal with a low shot as the goalkeeper left his position.  The same Camilleri could have registered a personal hat-trick one minute later but his close ranged attempt after receiving from Bogdanovic was blocked by goalie Franklin Vella.  Oratory’s goalie was again called to make an important intervention on 75 minutes when he managed to block an effort by Dene Shields.  Oratory’s best opportunity to re-open the issue arrived on 79 minutes when Thiago Dos Santos passed to an unmarked Shaun Attard but Attard’s shot ended over the crossbar.  On 90 minutes Xewkija went again close to score the fourth goal but Dene Shields had his shot on the run following a cross by Daniel Bogdanovic that ended just high.

After the match, the President of the GFA Dr Samuel Azzopardi, General Secretary Mr Daniel Camilleri, Vice President Mr Paul Galea and Treasurer Mr George Cini, presented medals and trophies to Xewkija’s players and officials among the celebrations by the supporters of Xewkija Tigers.
