The match between Xewkija Tigers and St Lawrence Spurs was dominated for long stretches by the former and the final score expresses the superiority of the champions over the Spurs.  Xewkija confirmed the strong potential in attack where Daniel Bogdanovic, Dene Shields and John Camilleri are finding the right combination to create danger to their opponents.  In this match Shields and Camilleri scored a brace each while Bogdanovic was a continuous threat to St Lawrence’s rearguard.  Xewkija scored an early goal and managed to double the score minutes before half time.  During the second period St Lawrence tried to produce a reaction but they ended up conceding space at their defense and Xewkija scored on another three occasions.  For this match St Lawrence had Daniel Micallef and Louis Buttigieg missing due to suspension.

In the second minute of play St Lawrence almost surprised the Tigers but Jonathan Micallef headed weak a free kick by William Barbosa and goalie Adrian Parnis saved without difficulty.  One minute later Xewkija’s John Camilleri headed incredibly wide from close distance following a cross by Bogdanovic and in the fourth minute Xewkija opened the score through an excellent header by Dene Shields following a cross by Kenneth Mercieca.  Xewkija kept insisting and on 9 minutes Bogdanovic concluded wide from close distance a cross by Shields and one minute later from another good cross by Shields John Camilleri saw his half volley ending high.  On 15 minutes the Spurs operated a counter break from a through pass by Christopher Cauchi but goalie Parnis had good timing and managed to block the danger before Mambaye Boye could conclude in goal.  Eight minutes later Xewkija’s John Camilleri and Daniel Bogdanovic both failed to connect to an inviting low cross by skipper Joseph Cefai and St Lawrence replied on 28 minutes when Mambaye Boye entered the area with a personal action but from his cross Fabian Xuereb concluded badly from a good position.  The two sides continued to produce some dangerous actions.  On 35 minutes Xewkija’s Bogdanovic had a shot following a personal action that missed the target and three minutes later St Lawrence’s Shaun Mizzi had a shot from long distance that ended just over the crossbar.  Xewkija doubled the score on 39 minutes through a tap-in by John Camilleri following a cross by Shields.  Xewkija could have added another goal on 42 minutes but a first timer by Shields following a cross by Kenneth Mercieca ended away from goal.

For the second period St Lawrence tried to increase their efforts and on 47 minutes Barbosa released Mambaye Boye with a header in Xewkija’s area but the latter had his attempt blocked by the goalkeeper and from the rebound the same striker saw his low shot stopped by the post and ending wide.  One minute later Xewkija’s central defender Miroslav Gegic had a header from a corner kick by Bogdanovic that ended inches wide and on 50 minutes Xewkija increased their lead when a cross by Joseph Cefai arrived to Dene Shields at the edge of the area and the Scottish striker fired towards the far post.  Two minutes later St Lawrence pulled once goal back when goalie Parnis failed to clear danger from the area from the rebound the ball arrived to William Barbosa who placed easily in goal.  However, Xewkija re-established the three goal lead on 62 minutes when John Camilleri came face to face with the goalkeeper following a cross by Jospeh Cefai and placed in goal with a low drive.  On 76 minutes a free kick by St Lawrence’s Barbosa was deflected to a corner by goalie Parnis and on 83 minutes Xewkija scored their fifth goal when Shields released Bogdanovic in St Lawrence’s territory but the latter had his attempt blocked by goalie Joseph Grima.  Bogdanovic took the rebound and from his pass substitute Gennaro Hili fired into an empty goal.
