Victoria Hotspurs inflicted a heavy defeat on second division side Zebbug Rovers in a one-sided match where the Hotspurs practically played the ninety minutes within Zebbug’s territory.  The Rovers only resisted for the first nineteen minutes of the match but as soon as the Hotspurs opened the score Zebbug were demoralized and ended up conceding goals at regular intervals.  The protagonist of this match was Victoria’s striker Nikola Vasilic who scored eight of the fifteen goals.

Oliver Curmi broke the deadlock on 19 minutes through a close ranged header following a cross by Vasilic and on 26 minutes Zebbug’s goalie Baskal Saliba neutralized a shot from an angled position by Rodney Buttigieg.  Two minutes later Nikola Vasilic arrived before goalie Saliba at the far post following a cross by Filipe Aguiar and the striker netted from close distance.  The score became 3-0 on 33 minutes through a header by Nikola Vasilic following a cross by Daniel Farrugia.  One minute later Rodney Buttigieg headed in goal a cross by Vasilic and on 38 minutes Michael Bezzina released Nikola Vasilic who made it 5-0 with a low drive.  On 45 minutes Michael Bezzina scored the sixth goal for his side following a personal action.

The Hotspurs continued to produce pressure within Zebbug’s area and on 48 minutes Ferdinando Apap lobbed into an open goal following a personal action.  Nikola Vasilic added two more goals on 49 and 55 minutes following crosses by Felipe Aguiar and Daniel Farrugia scored the tenth goal for the Hotspurs with a strike from outside the area with the ball hitting the post before ending in goal.  On 71 minutes in a rare break by the Rovers Gorgi Portelli headed badly from a good position following a free kick by Matthion Formosa.  Three minutes later Michael Bezzina won a ball from Zebbug’s rearguard and concluded easily into an open goal.  On 77 minutes the referee awarded a penalty to the Hotspurs for a foul by Christian Cassar on Nikola Vasilic and the same striker converted from the spot kick.  Nikola Vasilic scored his last two personal goal on 79 and 81 minutes with a lob over the goalkeeper and with a header respectively so that Ferdinando Apap scored the fifteenth goal on 84 minutes with a low shot following a solo action.
